My research
mainly concerns [distributed, self-interested] multi-agent planning. This
topic is at the cross-point of AI planning and algorithmic mechanism design.
Currently I am trying to find a combination of
planning and coordination algorithms that can be used to create a planning for
each self-interested agent in a multi-agent system. Together with my PhD
student Leon Planken
we study the temporal aspects of multi-agent plans.
Other related topics of
interests to me are auctions, and reputations and trust.

My research is currently supported by my VENI project on Coordinated multiagent planning financed by NWO/STW (2005-2008).

Often I receive emails with requests for internships. Unfortunately, in our group there is only a very limited opportunity for such internships. I therefore tend to react only to requests that give a clear reason for requesting a position in this group, or requests that include a concrete proposal of what you would like to work on in our group.
