  Check out this video of a quad-rotor aerial vehicle controled by our embedded system, that hovers autonomously without intervention by the pilot, although the pilot has a joystick at his disposal (credits: my former Teaching Assistants Widita Budhysusanto and Tiemen Schreuder). This quad-rotor setup was used in the 2008-2009 edition of my course in4073. From this year onwards we use a brand new quad-rotor (see In4073).
