Trader Project

Trader stands for Television Related Architecture and Design to Enhance Reliability. Within the TRADER project we try to improve the reliability of the existing software and hardware by improving run-time failure detection performance, and by providing a fault diagnostic capability to improve run-time recovery quality and to boost the design improvement process. Our task in the project comprises the following activities:
  • Failure Detection
  • Progress Monitoring
  • Fault Diagnosis
  • Reliability Analysis

This is a large project in which industrial and academic partners from the hardware and software fields collaborate in order to increase the reliability of chips produced by Philips Semiconductors. The project is hosted by the Embedded Systems Institute in Eindhoven, which offers also the TRADER management summary. The project is partly funded by the Dutch Government.

The following partners collaborate in TRADER: Philips Semiconductors, Philips Research Laboratories, Philips TASS, Design Technology Institute (a joint research institute of the Eindhoven University of Technology and the National University of Singapore), Delft University of Technology, Twente University, University of Leiden, and the Embedded Systems Institute.
